When this PTF is applied, CICS trace code will change the trace entry sequence number so that it will lose the trailing '=' and be replaced by another digit.  EG: =123456=  will become =1234567.  In both cases, the leading '=' occupies column 125.  If you have any tools that reference the trace entry sequence number then they may need to be reviewed to ensure their correct  operation.

The Knowledge Center will be amended. The KC references IBM  supplied tool DFHTU710, DFHPD710 and DFHDU710 which are  all capable of formatting CICS trace entries.  The detailed syntax only appears against DFHTU710 (with DFHPD710 and DFHDU710  referring to DFHTU710).

Resolution

IBM APAR which deals CICS trace entries has no impact on Intertest CICS r 11. With Symdump CICS there is also no impact. The Symdump CICS batch print utility prints out the NEW 7 character trace entries and the trace format region also displays the 7 character trace entries.
