Release: All supported releases.
Component: IDMS Server.
The install for IDMS Server supports a 64-bit version and a 32-bit version. It may be confusing as to which one should be installed. This will depend on the applications to be run from that PC or workstation.
The need for a specific version of the driver depends upon the application(s) that will be run where the server is being installed. Each application will require a compatible data source, and data sources are created by each version of IDMS Server. A 64-bit application can only make use of a 64-bit data source, and so will require the 64-bit version of IDMS Server. Likewise a 32-bit application can only make use of a 32-bit data source, and so will require the 32-bit version of IDMS Server. If a client working on a particular server or PC will be running both 32-bit and 64-bit applications, then both would need to be installed on that machine. When in doubt about which drivers will be needed, both can be installed on any given machine with no negative side-effects, so that regardless of the type of application that is run, the appropriate drivers will be available, and an appropriate data source can be defined.
