Answer

To grant the permissions to perform network discoveries to non-administrator security roles do the following:

  1. In the Symantec Management Console, on the Settings menu, click Security > Security Role Manager.
  2. In the Security Role Manager, in the Role option, select the security role that you want to grant permissions to.
  3. In the View option, select All Items. Then do both of the following:
  4. Grant all non-inherited permissions to the Connection Profiles folder:
    1. In the left pane click, Settings > Monitoring and Alerting > Protocol Management > Connection Profiles.
      Note: If you role doesn't have this visible, you may need to add it by clicking on the "+" icon.


       
    2. In the right pane, Click on "Advanced", select the desired Security Role, under Not inherited version of the Role, Select Full Control.
    3. Click Save changes.

  5. Grant all non-inherited permissions to the Manage Connection Profiles item:
    1. In the left pane click, Settings > Monitoring and Alerting > Protocol Management > Connection Profiles > Manage Connection Profiles.
    2. In the right pane, Click on "Advanced", select the desired Security Role, under Not inherited version of the Role, Select Full Control.
    3. Click Save changes.
