Question: How do I update Google Chrome browser with Patch Management Solution?

Answer: Auto updating needs to be disabled for Google Chrome, either by editing the registry or by using the tools provided by Google, before Patch Management can take over updating by working through the following:

  1. Modify the registry entry located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Update\UpdateDefault
  2. Right-click > Modify; Set the value of REG_DWORD to "0"
