Resolution

A Patch Management Solution for Windows upgrade issue occurs in the following scenarios:

  • Upgrade from 7.1 SP2 MP1 to 7.5
  • Upgrade from 7.1 SP2 MP1.1 to 7.5 SP1
  • Upgrade from 7.1 SP2 MP1.1 v11 to 7.6
  • Upgrade from 7.5 to 7.5 SP1

After the upgrade, the AexPatchAssessment.exe is removed from {Installation Directory}\Patch Management\Packages\WindowsVulnerabilityScan, and the Assessment Scan policy fails to run on client computers.

To avoid this issue, you need to run the Import Patch Data for Windows task after you perform the upgrade.
