Deployment Solution 7.1 SP2 MP1 Rollup Version 5 Release Notes

This document contains the following topics:

Prerequisites

ITMS 7.1 SP2 MP1.1 is required before installing the DS 7.1 SP2 MP1 Rollup v5. If you have not upgraded to ITMS 7.1 SP2 MP1.1 yet, please review the information contained in TECH197966  “Upgrading to ITMS 7.1 SP2 – MP1.1 – Best Practices”.

Note: If you are not sure what the difference is between the MP1 and MP1.1 releases: MP1.1 was released a few weeks after MP1 to address a stored procedure issue that required additional rights to execute.

See the ITMS 7.1 SP2 MP1.1 Release Notes at this link: DOC5955.

Introduction

This DS 7.1 SP2 MP1 Rollup version 5 contains point fixes that were not part of the regular ITMS 7.1 SP2 MP1 release, plus the fixes already provided with Rollup version 3 and 4.

Note: For more details on fixes for other Solutions provided by ITMS 7.1 SP2 MP1 Rollup v5, please refer to
HOWTO81832 “IT Management Suite 7.1 SP2 MP1 Rollup Version 5 Release Notes”

DS 7.1 SP2 MP1 Rollup v5 includes a list of fixes for

  • Deployment Solution (version included in Rollup v5: 7.1.7860)

Before you install this Rollup

  • Due to a recently found issue with the rollup, please manually stop all SBS services prior to applying this rollup.
  • We highly recommended that you apply this rollup within a maintenance window when your Symantec Management Platform (SMP) experiences minimal activity.
  • After installing the rollup, there may be errors in the log. The number of errors depends on the level of SMP activity. The less activity, the smaller the number of errors.

Important: Do not open the C:\windows\assembly\gac_msil\ folder in Windows Explorer for .dll files that you are trying to install. This could cause the .dll file to disappear..
