Issue/Introduction

When viewing the installed software on a client computer you notice there is a source column.  What is the meaning behind these values?

Inventory Solution 8.x

Resolution

The following values are represented:

• 1     – Msi scanner
• 2     – Inventory rule
• 4     – File list
• 8     – Add Remove programs entry
• 16   – Patch
• 32   – Server
• 64   – “Software Catalog Data Provider” using the rules provided by PC-Ware
• 128 – AppX Scanner
• 256 – AppV Scanner

If the number is not one of the numbers listed above, it is the sum of two or more, meaning the resource has been discovered in more than one method. For example a 3 would be both MSI Scanner and Inventory rule.
