Resolution

In the example we use Excel 2007 to access SSAS. This is to verify other programs can also access the SSAS.
The client machine must have OLEDB provider for SSAS 2005 installed. You can download the "Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services 9.0 OLE DB Provider " from the feature pack download page (about half way down) at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=df0ba5aa-b4bd-4705-aa0a-b477ba72a9cb&DisplayLang=en

Input the name of the Microsoft Analysis Server
I am using Windows authentication. You can also input the username in Domain\User format.

Select the IT Analytics database.

After this you can click 'Next' and then finsh it.

You should be able to load the pivot table into the Excel if everywork works correctly.
