7.1 Application Pool Best Practices

In previous versions of the product, it was often suggested to create separate Application Pools to improve performance of the Console by not forcing the sharing of resources in that Application Pool. Though, this was not a standard configuration of the product, in some scenarios, it did improve performance. This was notably used in Patch Management and Task Management.

In version 7.1+, this has been seen to be linked to several negative consequences, both with Console performance as well as with the functionality of the Solutions themselves. It is strongly recommended against creating separate Application Pools for any Solution or the Console itself.
