Can bulk resource records be deleted from the Symantec Management Platform?

Sometimes it may be necessary to bulk delete resource records, such as computers or users, from the Symantec Management Platform. Unfortunately, there isn't any simple way to do this if there's no method of easily determining which need to be deleted. The following information provides suggestions on how to help with this.

  • If there is a backup of the database, restore this prior to the import of the bulk records.
  • If CMDB Solution is installed, this provides the ability to manually delete records by right clicking and choosing Delete. Multiple records can be highlighted by holding down the Control key and clicking to highlight more than one record, and then right clicking and choosing Delete.
  • If it's known which records need to be deleted and these can be entered into a .xls or .csv file, Date Connector Solution import rule can be used to delete the records. Information on how to do this can be found in the following article:
