This article describes how to license PGP Universal Server 3.0.
Your PGP Universal Server must have a valid license to be taken out of Learn Mode. In other words, without a valid license, your PGP Universal Server will never encrypt or sign any email messages.
PGP Universal Server 3.1.0
To license PGP Universal Server 3.1.0, you must enter a Name, Organization, and License Number.
Name: Authorized User
Organization: Authorized Company
Note: All PGP Universal Server and PGP Desktop products are authorized using the same Name and Organization. Contacting the PGP License Authorization Server is no longer required to authorize a PGP software license. |
PGP Universal Server 3.0.x
For versions prior to 3.1.0, if you use a new license, you must use Authorized User for the Name and Authorized Company for the Organization to authorize the license.
Caution: When using a new license number on PGP Universal Server 2.x and 3.0.x, the PGP Desktop license will display with 1 seat license, but may have more than one client associated with that license. Eventhough this may look as you have exceeded your license, this won't affect the client functionality. This may also cause a warning message to be displayed on the main page. |
License Authorization Before authorizing your license, confirm your system date and time is correct on the System>General tab.If the date or time is incorrect, it may prevent successful authorization of the license.
