This article describes how to decrypt individual files using PGP Desktop 8.x.
|Note: If you are attempting to decrypt a PGP self-decrypting archive (SDA) or a conventionally-encrypted PGP file, you must know the passphrase which was chosen by the PGP user who originally encrypted the file, otherwise you will be unable to decrypt the file.|

|Note: The aforementioned decryption methods may also be accessed from the PGP mail toolbar by clicking the Decrypt & Verify button, whose icon appears on the PGP mail toolbar as an unlocked padlock and open envelope.|
Decrypt with the Current Window featurePGP's Current Window feature allows you to decrypt an encrypted body of text inside an open window on your screen.
Decrypt with the Clipboard featurePGP's Clipboard feature allows you to decrypt encrypted data which you've copied to the Windows clipboard.
