How to install IT Analytics report pack cubes, enable their processing, and install their reports

IT Analytics report pack cubes must be installed, processing must be selected and have occurred, and reports installed, before report data can be viewed:

How to install cubes

  1. For Notification Server 6 (NS6), in the Altiris Console, click on the Configuration tab (or click on the View > Configuration menu for the Altiris Console 6.5) > Solution Settings > IT Analytics > Configuration > Cube Setup. For Symantec Management Platform 7 (SMP7), click on the Home button > IT Analytics. Then click on Settings > Cubes.
  2. For NS6, click on the Available Cubes tab. For SMP7, click on the Available tab.
  3. Click on the check box for any cubes to install, such as for Endpoint Protection.
  4. For NS6, click on the Apply button. For SMP7, click on the Save Changes button.
  5. Click on the OK button on the confirmation window.
  6. The IT Analytics Event Viewer window appears and lists the installation progress. Scroll through the list to ensure no errors or failures occurred. Click on the Close button when it has finished installing the cubes. Note: If errors or failures occurred, these must be corrected before the reports can be successfully run for the cube.
  7. To uninstall cubes, for NS6 click on the Installed Cubes tab, or for SMP7 click on the Installed tab, then select any cubes to uninstall. For NS6, then click on the Apply button, or for SMP7 click on the Save Changes button.

How to enable processing

  1. For Notification Server 6 (NS6), in the Altiris Console, click on the Configuration tab (or click on the View > Configuration menu for the Altiris Console 6.5) > Solution Settings > IT Analytics > Processing > Processing Settings. For Symantec Management Platform 7 (SMP7), click on the Home button > IT Analytics. Then click on Settings > Processing.
  2. Click to select any cubes to be processed.
  3. Click on the Run Now button to process the cubes immediately. Or, click the Enable Schedule to configure and use a schedule (recommended). Note: Cubes are not processed automatically by default. If they are only processed once, or not at all, the data in reports will be either empty, or out of date. It is recommended to set up a reporting period, off production hours, for this to then automatically update the reports with.
  4. If Run Now was selected, the IT Analytics Event Viewer window appears and lists the processing progress. Scroll through the list to ensure no errors or failures occurred. Click on the Close button when it has finished processing the cubes. Note: If errors or failures occurred, these must be corrected before the reports can be successfully run for the cube.
  5. For NS6, click on the Apply button. For SMP7, click on the Save Changes button.

  3. Click on the check box for any reports to install, such as for Endpoint Protection.
  4. For NS6, click on the Apply button. For SMP7, click on the Save Changes button.
  5. Click on the OK button on the confirmation window.
