Issue/Introduction

Can Output Management Web Viewer 11.5 be installed on Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2012?

Cause

 

Resolution

Web Viewer 11.5 will install and run on either WINDOWS Server 2008 or 2012, but you must carefully follow the instructions in these informational apars

• RI14814 INSTALLING ON WINDOWS 2008/IIS7
• RI22986 NT -REGISTRY UPDATES SERVER 2008 R2 INSTALLS
• While the apars only refer to 2008, they are applicable to 2012 also.
• When building a new server, install the latest version of CAICCI-PC first to prevent Web Viewer from installing an older release during the install.  (See additional information below)
• Apply the latest Web Viewer maintenance to the server, so it is up to date:
  RO97315 R11.5 SP00 LEVEL SET #4  
  SO08456 Activex Certificate Expired

NOTE: Web Viewer 11.5 cannot run or install on Windows Server 2016.  You will need to upgrade to Web Viewer 12.1.  How to prepare for Installation for Output Management Web Viewer 12.1
