Error text: <time><severity><host><type> [54083] JLU session error - 2001: JLU could not connect to any server.

Affected module: jlu-controller

Product version: Symantec Brightmail Gateway 9.0

Cause: This is a normal runtime condition where a connection to the Symantec website cannot be established. In most cases it is a LAN/WAN configuration issue.

Resolution: Make sure the Scanner has the correct LAN/WAN settings and can access the Internet. If the DNS settings are incorrect the name server will not be able to resolve liveupdate.symantec.com and the AV definition updates will fail.

Log sample: The following is a sample of the error message as it appeared in the jlu-controller log:
