Question
We have computers in two different domains that we are attempting to push the Altiris Agent out to. The domain that the NS server is in is a NT domain. The other is an AD domain. No trust exists between the two. We are having problems getting the Altiris Agent installed on numerous clients because of this. Is there a login script that can be used to better push out the Altiris Agent?

Answer
The Notification Server Reference guide provides a way of doing this and this one also works very well. Include these lines in a batch file and point the login script or GPO to this batch file on the NS or some other share.

if exist "c:\Program Files\Altiris Agent\AeXNSAgent.exe" goto :end

net use n: "\\NS_ServerName\NSCap\Bin\Win32\X86\NS Client Package"

n:\aexnsc.exe -s -a ns="NS_ServerName" nsweb=http://NS_ServerName/Altiris/ NOTRAYICON NOSTARTMENU /s

net use n: /delete

:end

Here are the command line arguments that can be used for aexnsc.exe.

AeXNSC Command Line Arguments
aexnsc.exe [-s]
[-a arguments]
[ns= "NotificationServer"]
[nsweb="NotificationServerWeb"]
[path=InstallationPath]
[NOSTARTMENU]
[NOTRAYICON]
[OKTOREBOOT]
[/remove]
[/NOADDREMOVE]
[/s]
