Issue/Introduction

Descriprtion:

In the IDMS Installation CAI.SAMPJCL library, AGJSEDIT member, there are references to FCSLIB, RESLIB, RDMSLIB and TOTALLIB. What are these libraries used for?

Solution:

During the IDMS Installation process, in the IDMS18n.CAI.SAMPJCL, the SMP/E AGJSEDIT member has references to FCSLIB, RESLIB, RDMSLIB and TOTALLIB. These library references in the RECEIVE (AGJ4RECD) JCL correspond to four CULPRIT interfaces: CAGJI52, CAGJI53, CAGJI54. and CAGJI55. These Culprit interfaces are associated with non-IDMS databases.

For example, FCS stands for Financial Control System (General Ledger) which was a product from the former UCC and now owned by CA Technologies. FCS consists of a master file and control file. CULPRIT has a supplied interface to this database.

RESLIB is the Culprit interface for IMS.

RDMSLIB is the Culprit interface for RDMS Auditor product.

TOTALLIB is an interface for CULPRIT for the TOTAL product and database.

These are optional interfaces and if you are not using FCS, IMS, TOTAL, or RDMS databases, there's no need for these settings.

Most clients do not use these CULPRIT interfaces and therefore comment them out or omit them from the RECEIVE AGJ4RECD or SMP/E AGJSEDIT JCL.
