Clarity: Timesheet Notes portlet doesn't return data

Issue/Introduction

Description:

The Timesheet Notes portlet (cop.invTimesheetNotesLinkable) is not returning any data. I have executed the query used in the portlet against the DB and it returns data, but the portlet is empty.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Enter notes into timesheet entry
2. Execute 'Post Timesheets' job
3. Create a tab and add the Timesheet Notes portlet
4. Set filter for a Resource that has posted timesheets with notes or click 'Show All' button to show all timesheets with notes

 

Expected Results: To see data returned in the portlet, showing Timesheet Notes

Actual Results: No results returned

Solution:

The usage of the Portlet as described in the 'Steps to Reproduce' is not to be used in this manner. The intended purpose of this portlet is to be used as a drill-down portlet associated with the 'Tiimesheet Notes' portlet.

The PMO Product Guide explains that the Timesheet Notes portlet lists notes attached to a single timesheet entry. To access this portlet, you need to open Home, and from Resource Management, select Timesheet Overview, click the Timesheet Details icon to drill down to the Investment Timesheet Review portlet on the Timesheet Details page, and click the icon in the Notes Attached column to drill down to the Timesheet Notes page. It is designed this way to avoid any performance issues as we can have a great amount of notes.
