Firewall settings are required to be configured to secure the communication between the product components. The Control Compliance Suite is composed of several individual components that communicate using your existing network. Based on your network topology and geography, these components can be widely separated. Communications between the modules may need to traverse through one or more firewalls. If they do, you must configure your firewalls to allow these communications.
The Control Compliance Suitecomponents are configured to use the default TCP ports. If your network's layout requires it, you can change these default ports. The Control Compliance Suitecomponents also use the SSL, RPC, OLEDB SSL, and SCHANNEL network protocols to communicate. These protocols are required for establishing communication between the components.
Based on your network configuration and on the location of your components, communications may need to pass through a firewall. When communications pass through a firewall, you must configure the firewall ports to allow the components to access one another.
