Resolution

Symantec IT Management Suite 8.1 RU4

Starting from Symantec IT Management Suite 8.1 RU4, Symantec Management Platform and related solutions support client computers with macOS 10.13 High Sierra.

Known issues in the full support are listed in appropriate section.

List of supported solutions

Symantec IT Management Suite provides support for client functionality for the macOS 10.13 High Sierra.

The Full Support functionality is limited to the following components, solutions and feartures of the Symantec IT Management Suite:

  • Symantec Management Agent for UNIX, Linux and Mac
  • Deployment Solution - Limited support
Note: The Install Mac OS task and Create Image task for computers with Apple File System are not supported.
  • Inventory Solution
  • Mac Profile Management
  • Network discovery
  • Patch Management Solution
  • Software Management Solution
  • Virtual Machine Management

Note:

The components and solutions that are not explicitly listed above are not supported. The usage of those might lead to undesirable outcomes.

As the ESXi hypervisor does not support macOS 10.13 High Sierra yet, you may not be able to create a macOS 10.13 High Sierra
virtual machine using the Virtual Machine Management Portal.

Workaround: Select a different macOS version and after creating a virtual machine,manually upgrade it to
macOS 10.13 High Sierra.
