Symantec IT Management Suite 8.1 RU3

Initial testing performed by Symantec shows that a range of the IT Management Suite functionalities can be used to manage client computers that use macOS 10.13 High Sierra.

The scope of support is limited to specific components and solutions as indicated below as well as version 8.1 RU3 of the Symantec IT Management Suite. Additional limitations may apply. If so, they are listed under the Known limitations section.

Symantec will issue a Full Support statement once the full testing of the new operating systems is performed and all the known limitations are addressed.

List of supported solutions

The Early Support functionality is limited to the following components and solutions of the Symantec IT Management Suite:

  • Symantec Management Agent for UNIX, Linux and Mac
  • Deployment Solution
  • Inventory Solution
  • Mac Profile Management
  • Network discovery
  • Patch Management Solution
  • Software Management Solution
  • Virtual Machine Management

Note:

The components and solutions that are not explicitly listed above are not supported. The usage of those might lead to undesirable outcomes.

As the ESXi hypervisor does not support macOS 10.13 High Sierra yet, you may not be able to create a macOS 10.13 High Sierra
virtual machine using the Virtual Machine Management Portal.

Workaround: Select a different macOS version and after creating a virtual machine,manually upgrade it to
macOS 10.13 High Sierra.
