Issue/Introduction

Description:

When running large WEBI reports, Business Object server crashes with following error:

Error:

Cannot Initialize Report Engine server (Error RWI 00226)

Cause:

Webiprocessingserver is running out of memory.

Environment

Release:
Component: PPMENV

Resolution

Solution:

[Just on Windows]

  1. Open up the Windows Registry by clicking on "Start"--> Run and typing in regedit. Navigate to the following path:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Business Objects\Suite xx.x\Enterprise\InstallRoot

  2. Find the Path key and check its value. If value does not point to the Business Objects Enterprise installation directory, change it to point to right path. (ie: C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise xx.x)

  3. Reboot Business Object server.

    [Just on Linux/Unix]

    1. Reboot Business Object server.

    [All Operative Systems]

    • Ensure scheduled jobs are not causing problems. If so, delete them and re-create them again.
    • Check memory settings for WebIntelligenceProcessingServer properties in the CMC, those could be increased (review TEC595286 for further details).
