Issue/Introduction

 Is there a want to enable MSI logging in the Symantec Installation Manager (SIM) that will capture information about installation and upgrade failures?

Environment

ITMS 8.x

Resolution

At the Installed Products page of the Symantec Installation Manager (SIM) tool, click Settings in the top-right. Then click the box for "Enable Windows installer logging" as seen in the screenshot below:

The installation logs will be saved into ...\Programdata\Symantec\SMP\Logs\ location and these files will be labeled "Install". Each msi that is used by SIM will also list their exit codes in these logs.
