Installing the Symantec Security Information Manager product license

After you have installed the Information Manager appliance software, you must install the Information Manager product license. If you need assistance acquiring a product license, contact your Symantec sales representative.

To install the Symantec Security Information Manager product license

  1. Using a Windows-based computer, open a Web browser, and in the address bar, type the IP address of the appliance. By default, this address uses the syntax https://<IP-address>, where <IP-address> represents the IP address of your appliance. For example:

    https://192.168.0.10

    By default, the appliance uses self-signed certificates, which cannot be verified by certificate authentication services. If prompted, click Yes to accept the appliance certificate.

  2. Log in to the Web configuration interface using the administrator credentials that you created during the appliance software installation.

  3. In the left column, click SSIM Licensing.

  4. On the SSIM Licensing page, under Import a License File, in the License file to import field, navigate to the license file.

  5. Click Import License.

    When the license is imported, it is displayed in the Current Licenses table.
