Resolution

Issue: The Hardware Serial number does not get updated under INV_AEX_AC_Identification table for Sun SPARC machines after running basic inventory.

Error: There is no error message, however the hardware serial number information will not be available under INV_AEX_AC_Identification.

Environment: 7.1.2 MP1

Cause: KNOWN ISSUE, reported to Engineering.

Solution:

This is a known issue and Symantec team is working.

WorkAround:

The hardware serial number information during hardware inventory scan gets updated in “Inv_HW_Computer_System' table under 'Identifying Number' column. In case you want to fetch hardware serial number for SPARC machine you can query to Inv_HW_Computer_System table and obtain the data.
