Question

Is there is a way to merge computers with duplicate names in NS7?

Answer
With NS6, this can be accomplished by going to Altiris Console 6.0 > Configuration tab > Server Settings > Notification Server Infrastructure > Merge Computers and then running the 'Merge Computers with Duplicate Names' report.

With NS7 (SMP7) this page has been removed. This has been replaced with a Windows Scheduled Task named "NS.Merge Duplicate Resources" and can be viewed from the Windows OS Control Panel > Scheduled Tasks. By default this task runs every 12hrs.
