Issue/Introduction

I have applied new settings for the the task server agents and they will not take until the client task agent has been reset.  What is the best method of resetting the task server agent remotely?

Environment

ITMS 8.x

Resolution

Follow these steps to remotely reset the Task Server Agent on client machines.

  1. Go to Jobs and Tasks in the SMP Console
  2. Create a new task
  3. Select the Reset Task Agent task type
  4. Click OK
  5. Schedule that task against the target clients you want to reset

Note: The client may require a policy update and you may have to reset the altiris agent to help the client update the task policies quicker.
