Issue/Introduction

You would like to exclude certain users from content being blocked by a content filtering rule.

Cause

Certain content is allowed for certain users in your organization.

Resolution

Select the appropiate option in the USERS tab of the content filtering rule to allow/deny certain groups of users with a complete email address or by using Active Directory groups. The following options are available:

Sender
Use this option if the rule will apply to the sender.

The following options are available for the sender:

  1. Apply if the sender of the message is in the list. The content filtering rule will be applied to the sender that is being specified in the list within the content filtering rule.
  2. Apply if the sender of the message is NOT in the list. The rule will be applied to senders not included in the list.

Note: If the list is left blank, the rule will apply or it will NOT apply to all recipients.

Recipient
Use this option if the rule will apply to the recipient.

The following options are available for the recipient:

  1. Apply if ANY of the recipients of the message are in the list. The rule will be applied to any recipient in the message.
  2. Apply if ANY of the recipients of the message are NOT in the list. The rule will be applied to any recipient that is NOT in the list.
  3. Apply if ALL of the recipients of the message are in the list. The rule will be applied only if ALL the recpients are in the list.
  4. Apply if ALL of the recipients of the message are NOT in the list. The rule will be applied only if ALL of the recipients are NOT in the list.
