Symptoms
IIS Admin Service was installed and there was no error message. The IIS Admin Service is running as a service.


ERROR:
"To continue the installation, make sure that the Internet Information Services (IIS) and World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC) is installed and running. On computers that run IIS 7.0 or later, the following IIS role services must also be installed: ASP.NET, CGI, and IIS 6.0 Management Compatibility"


Cause

The World Wide Web Publishing Service is missing. When the following command is run: net start w3svc, the result is: "The service name is invalid." The response indicates that this service is not installed

Resolution

Install World Wide Web Publishing Service from Add/Remove Windows Components.

For a succesful installation, the following registry key must have Administrator privilege to full control:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SvcHost
