Virus definition out of date notification not showing up properly if the client list is chosen in the notification condition
Symptoms
The notification for the virus definition out of date is generated properly in SEP 11 RU5, but when choosing the client list option in the notification conditions, the email generated by the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) contains "Nothing to report". The client list is not shown. Every other component of SEPM is working fine.
This seems to be an issue when the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security is enabled
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove programs.
Technical Information
By default when the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security is enabled it changes the security settings for the Internet Explorer and resets the internet zone to high, Thus not allowing access to most of the websites which uses scripts and activex controls.
This would not only impact the browsing experience, but would also impact application which uses the internet settings to be able to work. SEPM is one of those applications which is impacted by Internet Explorer Enhanced Security feature.
One valid step that could be performed is adding the website of SEPM in the trusted site list so that it does not get blocked by the Internet settings imposed by the Internet Explorer enhanced security feature.
