Issue/Introduction

Symptoms

- After installing Symantec Endpoint Encryption - Full Disk (SEE-FD) the client communication shows as Never Connected
- The customer can connect to server http://serverName:port/GECommunicationWS.asmx from the client machine
 

Resolution

This problem can happen if the SQL server is not configured to use mixed-mode authentication.

To set the SQL server to use mixed-mode authentication

1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server > Enterprise Manager.
2. In the left pane, right-click the server, and then click Properties.
3. On the Security tab, under Authentication, click SQL Server and Windows, and then click OK.
4. In the left pane, go to Security/Logins.
5. Double-click the "sa" account, or whichever account you used when you installed SQL Server.
6. Type the account password, click OK, then type the password again for verification.
7. Restart the SQL Server service.
