After installing Symantec Mail Security for Domino 8.0.X, Domino crashes at startup with the Error 'SMSDOM Panic: Unable to create Log directory' appearing in the Domino console log
Symptoms
- Before the crash, the Domino console reports the following error 'SMSDOM Panic: Unable to create Log directory'.
- There were no Errors during the installation of the software
- The SAV.NSF and SAVLOG.NSF files cannot be found in the >\Lotus\Domino\data\SAV directory
- The NSD file created upon the crash shows the Nserver task as the Fatal Thread
