Issue/Introduction

How to reset the password for a LiveUpdate Administrator (LUA) user account when the email address for the account is unknown or no longer valid.

Cause

The built in method to reset a LiveUpdate Administrator (LUA) user account password requires having a known, valid email address associated with your account. This method cannot be used when the email address associated with your LUA user account is unknown or invalid.

Resolution

Use one of the following methods to reset an LUA user account password with an unknown or invalid email address:

• Reinstall LUA
• Delete and recreate the LUA user from a different LUA login
• Manually reset the LUA user password in the LUA database.
