Issue/Introduction

Installation fails on micro desktops or netbook laptops.

Symptoms
Failure to initialize, encrypt, or system faults on boot up after a successfull installation.

Cause

Any ATOM processor/motherbord based machine such as Micro Desktops or Netbooks are not supported by Symantec Endpoint Encryption versions prior to 7.03. Limited support is provided thereafter.

Resolution

If using a version of SEE prior to 7.03, do not attempt to encrypt Atom based machines. If you do install to an ATOM based machine and are unable to uninstall due to boot failures, please follow the steps in the document below.
