Issue/Introduction

You seek to uninstall Symantec Mail Security for Domino 8.0 from a Windows server.

Resolution

Do one of the following:

• Uninstall SMSDOM8.0 from the Windows control panel
• Uninstall SMSDOM8.0 from the Windows Programs menu

To uninstall the product from the Windows control panel

1. Shut down the Lotus Domino server.
2. On the Domino server on which Mail Security is installed, in the Windows Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click Symantec Mail Security 8.0 for Domino, and then click Remove.In the confirmation dialog box, click Yes. All Mail Security databases are retained by default.

To uninstall the product from the Windows Programs menu

1. Shut down the Lotus Domino server.
2. On the Domino server on which Mail Security is installed, on the Windows taskbar, click Start > Programs > Symantec Mail Security for Domino > Uninstall Symantec Mail Security for Domino.
3. In the Installation Resume panel, click Next.
4. When you are prompted to keep existing Mail Security databases and statistics, select the database and statistic descriptions that you want to keep, and then click Next.
5. When the uninstallation is complete, in the Installation Wizard Completed panel, click Finish.

When an installation does not complete correctly, it may be necessary to manually uninstall the Symantec Mail Security product.
