Inova Solutions LightLink Middleware and Supervisor Applications 5.6 do not function properly after applying an Application and Device Control policy

Issue/Introduction

You apply an application and device control policy to a machine running Inova Solutions Supervisor Applications 5.6 and are no longer able to use the program.

Symptoms
Attempting to access the Inova System Manager results in "System Manager Initialization Error." "The connection to the Data Directory could not be established."

The application log in the Event Viewer also lists an application error:

"Faulting application sysman.exe, version 5.6.264.0, faulting module i_communication.dll, version 5.6.264.0, fault address 0x00084f1e"

Cause

An incompatibility with the sysplant driver for application and device control.

Resolution
