How to apply a Global Intelligence Network license (GIN)

Issue/Introduction

You have a GIN license and want to apply it.

Resolution

Log in to the Symantec Security Information Manager (SSIM) Web Configuration page.

(SSIM 4.5.x)

1. Click on Global Intelligence Network Manager Configuration
2. Go to the License tab.
3. Under Supply a license file for the License file to import field, click Browse.
4. Select your valid license file and click OK.
5. Click Import License.

 

(SSIM 4.6.x)

1. Click on GIN Configuration
2. Go to the License tab.
3. Under Supply a license file for the License file to import field, click Browse.
4. Select your valid license file and click OK.
5. Click Import License.

 

(SSIM 4.7.x)

1. Click on Settings > Licensing > GIN
2. Under Supply a license file for the License file to import field, click Browse.
3. Select your valid license file and click OK.
4. Click Import License.

 

 

Unless there is a problem reaching the GIN website, you should see the effects of this almost immediately on the Intelligence tab. If you are logged into the SSIM Client while following these instructions, you must close the SSIM Client and log back in.
