Issue/Introduction

You want to create exceptions to a file filtering rule in Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange (SMSMSE) but there is no exceptions section.

Cause

The file filtering rules use the same scan engine as the virus scanning rule.

Resolution

This is as designed. The file filtering rules cannot be edited to allow exceptions.
