Issue/Introduction

Instructions on manually uninstalling the Symantec Event Agent 4.x from a Microsoft Windows Machine

 

Resolution

Stop the "Symantec Event Agent" Service

1. Delete the following Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AgentStart
2. Delete the following files and folders:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\SES
C:\Program Files\Symantec\Event Agent
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Event Agent

The Symantec Event Agent is now removed.

Note: These instructions are also valid for older SESA Agent installations. To remove a SESA Agent install, delete the "SESA agent" folder, instead of the "Event Agent" folder.
