Issue/Introduction

Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange (SMSMSE) does not quarantine messages detected as spam.
 


Symptoms
 

Messages detected as spam by the Symantec Premium AntiSpam (SPA) component of SMSMSE are not put in the SMSMSE quarantine.
 

Resolution

SMSMSE is working as designed.  Quarantine is used for files that contain a virus or rule violations.  Files detected as spam are rejected or accepted.

To set Premium AntiSpam Actions:

  1. Open the SMSMSE console.
  2. Click Policies > Premium AntiSpam Actions.
  3. Check the actions you want to take on spam messages.
  4. Click Deploy changes.
