Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange

Issue/Introduction

After installing SMSMSE on Exchange Server 2007 or Exchange Server 2010, Heuristic Detection and Real-time Blacklist (RBL) are no longer available as AntiSpam options.

To view the policies open the SMSMSE Administration Console and perform the following steps:

1. Click the Policies Menu.
2. AntiSpam > Blacklist and Whitelist (or Whitelist on later SMSMSE versions) menu item.

At this point the Real-time Blacklist options do not appear.

Cause

Heuristic Detection and Real-Time Blackslist is no longer available starting with the SMSMSE 6.0 version.  The Real-time Blacklist feature is available with SMSMSE on Exchange 2000/2003.

Resolution

This is expected behavior. Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010 have these functions themselves. As such, they are not needed in SMSMSE.
