Patch Management Solution

Cause

Currently multiple PMImports cannot be running at the same time.

Resolution

Work through the following steps on the Notification Server > Console > Manage > Jobs and Tasks > System Jobs and Tasks > Software > Patch Management > Microsoft Patch Management Import

  1. Stop all running instances of Import Patch Data
    • Highlight the attempts; right-click / Stop
    • Ensure clean up processes, like Revise Software Update Task, are also stopped: TECH45458
      • Contact support if unable to access the hidden Revise Software Update Task through the URL provided on this KM
      • Note: this hidden URL is not supported; however, this URL is a means to stopping any queued instances of this task

  2. Run the corresponding commands to reconfigure the database to the current version of Patch Management installed.
  3. Run the PMImport manually or allow to run on schedule
    • Disable the 'Incremental download' setting / save changes.
    • May need to adjust the schedule to allow for the full process of .cab download and clean up to complete.
