Issue/Introduction

Altiris Agent is unable to connect to the Notification Server.

Task Status Tab: Status shows "unable to register with server" or "received request to stop running tasks"

Altiris Agent Settings Tab: Network Status shows "Network usage is restricted"

Error Communications blockout in effect (-2147209952) in the Agent log file

Cause

Maintenance window is preventing communication

or

Blockout settings are preventing communication

Resolution

Modify the appropriate setting on the Notification Server then update the client settings.

To check the Maintenance Windows go to Settings > Agents/Plug-ins > Settings > Maintenance Windows All Managed Computers

To Check Blockouts go to Settings > Agents/Plug-ins > Settings > Maintenance Windows > Altiris Agent Settings
