Environment

ITMS / CMS 7.x, 8.x

Cause

The proper permissions seem to be not transferred during the installation. SIM doesn't require that you install the Solutions using the AppID account, however, for some reason the Altiris Event Engine service requires that you are logged as the AppID account in order to restart the service during install.

Resolution

Log off from the server and login as the AppID account. Make sure there are not GPOs that may be associated to this account that could prevent from starting any of the Altiris Services.
