Deployment Solution

Issue/Introduction

If using WinPE 2.1 (Auto-Select) to distribute an image and the Distribute Disk Image task has Use DeployAnywhere selected, DeployAnywhere will not copy the driver files down to the destination 64- bit system.

Cause

This will occur on 64-bit computers if WinPE Auto-Select is selected (or Default Automation is selected, and in the PXE Config Utility Default Automation is set to WinPE Auto-Select or WinPE x64).  Currently there is only a 32-bit executable for DeployAnywhere.  The 32-bit executable does not function properly in a 64-bit environment.

Resolution

This can be resolved by modifying the task to use WinPE 32-bit.  Select the job to be fixed and select the Distribute Disk Image task.  At the bottom of the first page is the Automation pre-boot environment option. Change it to WinPE Managed (32-bit). In other words, replace WinPE Managed with whatever your WinPE boot option is named but make sure it's followed by (32-bit) and not (Auto-Select).  Click Finish and then run the job again.
