Issue/Introduction

NSEs are failing to process. Log files show this error:

Failed - Could not allocate a new page for database 'AltirisDev' because of insufficient disk space in filegroup 'PRIMARY'. Create the necessary space by dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup. Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server

Cause

Customer is using MS SQL Server 2005 Express.

According to the following link http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinfo/features/compare-features.mspx MS SQL Server 2005 Express has a Database size of 4GB

Resolution

Had customer run report showing the size of each table in the Altiris database. The hope was that the 'evt' tables were large in size and could be truncated to free up space.

This was not the case. Customer has to delete computers to free up space or migrate to a full SQL version.
