Issue/Introduction

Error received when installing the Altiris Agent:

Error activating agent session 1: Class not registered (-2147221164)

Cause

In this instance a file existed in the root of the C: called Program (no file extension). It is unclear why this file was in existence or what created it.

Resolution

Rename or remove this file if it exists and the installation should complete successfully.
