Why do computers appear as "Unknown" in Network Discovery?

Issue/Introduction

When you run a Network Discovery, why are many of my computers showing up as "Unknown" instead of as computers?

Resolution

Computers will show up as "unknown" unless SNMP is enabled as a service and is configured appropriately. See the server operating system vendor for details on enabling and configuring SNMP.
