Altiris service does not start with error 1053, "The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

Cause

It seems that the Altiris Service Account was removed from the Local Admin group on the Notification Server.

Resolution

Add the Altiris Service Account back in; the services should then start fine.
