Description:

Microsoft will end Mainstream Support for Windows 7 early in 2015. Are there plans to certify IE10 or IE11 for Gen 8.5 under Windows 7?

Microsoft will end Mainstream Support for Windows 7 on January 13, 2015

Therefore, there are no plans to certify IE10 or IE11 for Gen 8.5 under Windows 7.

Per the Gen 8.5 Technical Requirements document Gen 8.5 is currently supported for:

• Internet Explorer 8
• Internet Explorer 9
• Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2

Use of any other version would fall under the Support Policy in that same document.

NOTE: IE10 has not been certified for any Windows version because:

• Gen 8.5 certification of Windows 8.x was deliberately delayed until the more robust Windows 8.1 was released
